ESA’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) has signed a Memorandum of Intent with Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group. The agreement marks the start of a three-year collaboration aimed at exploring how space applications can help create parametric insurance solutions to protect sectors such as agriculture and forestry from climate-related risks.

Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, is pleased to announce that Andrew Aldwinckle is joining the business as International Casualty Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), effective 1 February 2026. Based in London, Aldwinckle will oversee LM Re’s international casualty portfolio, reporting to Chantal Rodriguez, CUO, LM Re.

Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andreas Blosche to head of Northern Europe, effective immediately. Based in Cologne, Blosche will report to Eric Sugier, chief underwriting officer, property, LM Re.

At the core of this product is Safehub’s ShakeNet, a global solution that combines data from Safehub’s increasingly dense network of proprietary sensors with existing government seismic networks to provide highly-localized regional shaking maps.

This solution is the first of its kind, designed to financially safeguard US dairy producers from heat stress on their livestock herds, causing them to produce less milk.
